The first ten years of the millennium have given us magnificent vintages. The 2005 is now on the market. Straightforward, ample, floral, the Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vintage 2005 certainly deserves some superlatives.
At ease with other wines, it would be a perfect match for poultry with morel mushrooms or a langoustine feuilleté.
The nose sharp and spicy opens up to aromas of orange peel and white flowers. The palate is fresh reminiscent of its origin but never aggressive with a very long finale. Ready to drink today. Lovers of old champagnes may like to keep this wine for a few more years.
