Brigitte Haas has an innate skill for sharing her passion for precise and elegant wines with those who visit the House in Chouilly. This warm and charismatic Lady of the House has never considered herself to be the owner of the property and instead sees her role as one of ‘passing on the baton’ to her children who have now been entrusted with the responsibility of continuing this lifetime work. With her unfaltering devotion and high standards, she continues to impact their choices and decisions at the Domaine.

It was after reading an advertisement in the Alsace Local Newspaper that Brigitte arrived in Champagne in the 1960s in her old white Citroen DS. A wine domaine was looking to hire a trilingual assistant and she worked in this position for the next year and a half. She was soon accepted into the microcosm of Champagne and developed a deep passion for her new adoptive region, a region that she has never left since. She purchased her first vineyard in 1974 in Epernay, fascinated by the beauty of champagne hills and started her vines growing education.
She went on to open her own wine domaine in 1983 which was the catalyst for the next chapter. In 1991 she and François founded Legras & Haas together with their trademark dedication, patience and hands-on approach. Brigitte took care of the commercial side of the business and her customer orientated approach contributed significantly to the instant success of the House.
